Racing in the UK

In the UK, we race at events run by the Sled Dog Association of Scotland (SDAS). 

 

Mandie is Chairperson of the SDAS and was key to the Club adopting “Open” classes in 2003. 

The SDAS now has nearly 200 dogs listed on its “Open Sleddog Register”.

 

The events in the UK are dryland.  We have only ever competed at 2 snow races in the UK in the 13 years that we have been involved in the sport!

 

 

Keith has been very successful racing in the UK, gaining numerous 1st places over the years with his Siberian Husky team.  He has also been very successful running the Scandinavian Hounds (aka “The Black Boys”) in the 4-dog open class in the 2004/05, 2005/06 and 2006/07 seasons.  Keith moved up to the 6-dog open class for the 2007/08 season and has continued his winning ways.

 

Mandie is the very organised “Musher’s Helper” and has been competing for the last 2 seasons with the team of Cumbrian Trailhounds.
